The gongfu tea artist at your finger tip
Gongfu style is the original way to appreciate fine tea but the brewing technique is so complex that in China professional tea artists spend years mastering brewing with gaiwan and Yixing pot.
Yangsheng Ye, founder and director of Shanghai Teatak invented the LePod tea brewer in 2009 to automate the process. Lepod makes tea at the touch of a button using single-cup capsules that contain premium whole leaves. In gongfu mode the brewer imitates the way a tea artist makes tea. Settings for wulong, black, puer, white, green or yellow tea, will make multiple steepings in just the right way. Can it do the job as well as a tea artist? According to Jianrong Wang, Director of the China National Tea Museum in Hangzhou, the LePod brewer has reached that level.
Lepod brewers are made for home or office with a commercial model widely used in Chinese tea stores. The company’s headquarter is in Shanghai, China. Learn more: www.lepod.com
