  1. Well said, A Gentleman Planter!!!!!! Bops I am extremely proud of you and the work that you have done and continuing to do. Hats off buddy! It’s amazing what you have done in Craigmore. Proud to have an ex colleague and a friend. Congratulations and Renu joins me in complimenting you . Terrific hard work and tremendous efforts show results as done by you.

  2. Wonderful story. I knew Bopanna personally from the Tata Tea days. I knew even then that he was destined to greater heights. He has all the qualities that make for a good leader. Teamwork, ethics, genuine concern for his people, firmness coupled with absolute fairness. And hard work. It is no wonder Craigmore has prospered under his leadership.

  3. Bopanna and I were colleagues in Tata Tea, Munnar. We have been close friends for years – both professionally and on a personal level. After he took over as MD, I have had the privilege of visiting Craigmore & what is written in this article is only but a small part of his management skills & tremendous success. Bopanna has turned Craigmore into a benchmark for the industry be it in leaf harvesting operations, manufacturing standards or man-management . Well done Bopanna ( Bojanna ! ).

  4. I wish and hope that Mr. Bopanna stays on the property managing beautiful Craigmore for as long as he can. Sir, you certainly makes me proud to be a part of this industry. Its well articulated by the author

It would be my pleasure to host you here at Craigmore and take you all around .

  6. Remarkable achievements, in an era when the industry is struggling . Well done Bopi.

Nice write up too – good structure and flow .

    Best wishes,

    Dharmaraj .

  7. I’m not from the Tea industry. But was with the Tata group for many years. It was wonderful to read this story and I wish Bopana and Craigmore the very best. I’m sure the future is even brighter for Bopana because his passion and love comes out very clearly underlined by the Tata value system. An inspirational story that I’m sure will motivate others to excel in their pursuits.
Warm wishes to the team at Craigmore including Mr Shivdasani who selected Bopana and backed him.

  8. I am a regular user of their green tea which is available only I some select outlets and get my regular supply whenever I visit Coonoor

  9. A well researched article. I was privileged to be invited as a guest a Craigmore in 2018. Being a planter myself for over four decades in all geographies Darjeeling Assam Dooars and Nilgiris. Craigmore as I saw it was a real eye opener. When most plantations are crying out as unsustainable industry specially in the south. The care and details for welfare for his employees was amazing. Crèche water supply, buildings medical care were all in top condition. What is more the old staff quarters ancient as they were were demolished in phased and new modern houses were been built. Besides employees I met looked happy so did the plantations with bright red poinsettias on the boundaries of most of the manicured plantations.
Truly a great leader with a great vision. Nilgiri is purely for orthodox teas Green or Black and this has paid Craigmore its dividend.

  10. Dear Bops
Awesome write up and you deserve every accolade and more. I am proud to say that we were batch mates at Tata Tea. You make us all very proud! Wishing you many many more successes.
Hope to visit you at Craigmore sometime soon.
    All the best!

  11. Thanks everybody for your kind words of appreciation. I think the writer – Aravinda, has given me too much credit for what Craigmore has achieved. I am blessed to have an absolutely outstanding team here at Craigmore, that has enabled us to achieve what we have over the last 16 years and a Board of Director’s whose long term vision is unmatched.
Veteran and illustrious planters like Mr. M. H. Ashraff, Mr. Dharmaraj, Mr. Guha Thakurta, Mr. Babycon and many others friends and well wishers having been so generous in their words of appreciation and good wishes is indeed heartening! Thank you all every so much.
Best wishes and do stay safe and healthy in these extraordinary times we are all facing,
    Bopana
