As a 76 year old tea drinker since my youth, who just read about plastics in teabags yesterday, I am so relieved to know it was highly exaggerated and unfounded. No mention of the many studies showing microplastics disrupt endocrine systems?
Every year we discover yet another “safe” plastics and silicone aren’t safe. “BPA free” just means there is a different type of Bisphenol used, which is equally harmful.
Use glass, ceramic, food grade metal. No nonstick, and no liquids touching plastic. No aluminum cans, as they are lined with Bisphenols.
Good luck to your other commenter, the 76 year old who no doubt enjoyed lead paint and asbestos as well.
How can I check to see if the tea bags I am using are plastic free?
All tea bags have micro-plastics. Even the paper and unbleached ones. Just use a stainless steel strainer instead.
