Looking ahead, looking back

Tea Journey Magazine Banner

Hello, and here’s wishing you a wonderful 2025! I hope the festivities and holidays were everything you hoped it would be. I got away for a short break in the Nilgiris, where days were sunny with blue skies and nights were fickle. It was not a working holiday but still, to be there and see tea bushes around was a reminder about this special leaf, and the journey it’s set me on.

2025 is an especially big year for us at Tea Journey. For one, we turn 10 this year! I never tire of hearing Dan speak about how it all began. This is also a year when we want to move the magazine to India. It’s busy days ahead. All our writers are busy chasing some fabulous stories and I am looking forward to bringing them to you in the weeks ahead. Do keep an eye out for our Sri Lanka issue for early in the year.

As I dust off the cake crumbs and get to work, it seemed like the best time to look at the year that was and the stories we published. As it happens often, I am struck by how much lies behind a cup of tea. In case you missed it, I present, with much pleasure, some of our favourite stories from 2024. They pair perfectly with a cup of tea.

Happy reading and until next time,
Aravinda
